Creatures of the Night Science Getting around in the dark of the night requires many special adaptations and features. Students will observe and investigate these features.
Rarer and Rarer Science/SOSE Pearcedale Conservation Park has been set up to help preserve threatened animals. What is a rare animal? Why are different animals becoming more threatened. A chance to look at some threatened animals close up.
Where do They Fit? Science Look at animal relationships and how animals are classified. Why isn't a bat a bird? Students use animal features to group and compare them.
Underwater Worlds Science/SOSE Our wetlands are home to an amazing variety of creatures. A ponding expedition discovers some of the smallest animals, then we look at some of the frogs and fishes normally hidden from our view.
Wildlife out the Back Door Science/SOSE Investigate animals that can be found in the suburban environment. How can we make things better for wildlife in our back yards or school grounds? Look at frogs, lizards, possums, bats and birds. |
